1. sho rice cake
Issho-mochi is an event held to celebrate a child's first birthday and pray for their healthy growth, with the weight of the mochi (one sho) and the number one life combined. The round shape of the mochi also conveys the wish that the child will never be short of food, and that they will live a harmonious life.
